Because gold is the way it is, there’s no real way to beat the market. You may be able to buy when its low and sell when its high, but in general, you can’t predict it. Back in Feb 2009, gold rise to over $1000 an ounce.
If you’re looking for a surefire strategy on investing in gold, click the link at the bottom of this article.
Back then, people were thinking that gold would be even more valuable in the future because inflation would rise in the US. While we can’t be sure, there have been signs that inflation will go up. So could these gold fiends be right?
There are even certain hedge funds out there that have been heavily investing in gold, to the tune of $100. In fact, some people will even say that gold is the only thing you MUST have in every portfolio. No other investment can hold its value like gold does.
Back in the early 1900s, US currency was actually backed by gold. This helped to keep inflation down. You could even go to the bank and exchange your dollars for gold.
Back in the 1970s, they changed that. You could no longer exchange your cash for gold. As a result, the price of gold shot up to $100 per ounce.
It rose slightly, and then began to decline again.
Fast forward to September 11, 2001. Remember what happened that day? Because of the terrorist attacks, the certainty of the future of the world was put into question. What if the United States was taken out? It may sound strange, but if the country which controls the world market with its currency is knocked out of the #1 spot, then people will view gold as an investment which retains its value.
Suddenly, all the gold you’ve been buying is worth much, much more. If you’re one of the people who bought significant amount of gold between 1970 – 2001 each year like a good little investor, chances are you’re a bazillionaire.
If you didn’t invest, should you buy now?
